Useful Information

Tour Duration:
This is typically a 1–1.5 hour round trip, including 15–30 minutes ground time at Annapurna Base Camp (4,130m) for exploration, photography, and tea or breakfast if time allows. The tour is usually completed in the early morning hours.

Best Time to Fly:
The best seasons are spring (March to May) and autumn (September to December), when skies are generally clear and mountain views are spectacular. However, winter flights (January and February) also offer magical snow-covered scenery, while early mornings in summer (June to August) can be suitable if the weather cooperates.

Weather Dependency:
The tour is highly dependent on weather conditions. Visibility, wind, and air traffic can affect flight timing. In cases of bad weather, flights may be delayed, rescheduled, or canceled. Flexibility in your travel plan is recommended.

What You Will See:

  • Aerial views of Pokhara Valley, Phewa Lake, and lush terraced fields
  • Close-up views of towering Himalayan peaks: Annapurna I, Machapuchare (Fishtail), Annapurna South, Hiunchuli, and Gangapurna
  • The stunning natural amphitheater of the Annapurna Sanctuary

Clothing and Essentials:
ABC can be cold even during warm months, so it's important to dress appropriately. Recommended items include:

  • Warm layered clothing (especially for early mornings)
  • Sunglasses, gloves, and a hat
  • Comfortable walking shoes
  • Sunscreen and lip balm
  • Camera or smartphone for photos

Altitude Awareness:
Annapurna Base Camp is situated at 4,130 meters, and while the helicopter minimizes prolonged exposure, you may feel shortness of breath or mild symptoms of altitude. Guests are advised to stay hydrated, move slowly, and inform the guide of any discomfort. The time spent at high altitude is kept short to avoid health risks.

Safety and Flight Conditions:
Amazing Nepal Trek & Expedition partners with certified, experienced pilots and ensures well-maintained helicopters for your safety and comfort. Pre-flight safety instructions will be provided.

Weight Limit and Group Size:
The helicopter can carry 4–5 passengers per flight depending on weight. Group size and seating are determined for proper balance and flight safety.

Permits and Booking:
All necessary Annapurna Conservation Area Permit (ACAP) and TIMS card are arranged by Amazing Nepal Trek & Expedition and included in the package. Advance booking is highly recommended, especially during peak seasons.
