Flight Delay in Kathmandu-Lukla-Kathmandu

Twin Otter and Dornier is the primary mode of transport to and from the airstrip at Lukla. This service is fairly dependable. Sometimes, flights (to and from Lukla) may be canceled due to mountain weather conditions or technical problems. In such case, Amazing Nepal will charter a helicopter to ensure you are on schedule for your international flight. The helicopter can fly if the visibility is 1500m, while the twin otter can fly if the visibility is 5000m, as per Nepal’s Civil Aviation rules.

The cost of the helicopter is payable directly to our Kathmandu office in the event that this service is utilized. US cash, traveler’s cheques, or credit cards (Visa Cards, Master Cards only) are accepted. You will be given a receipt upon payment so that you may claim the amount from your travel insurance. The minimum cost will be US$500 and a maximum US$3500 depending on the number of group members.

It is recommended that you should arrive in Kathmandu a day earlier before you start your trek. When you arrive a day earlier, you will have time to rest as well as time to buy trekking equipment. Similarly, it is best to have some extra days after you have finished your trek because your flight to Kathmandu/Lukla might be canceled due to bad weather. So all together it is recommended to have a few extra days beside the trip schedule so that you don’t miss your International Flight.

Rapid Everest Base Camp - 12 days

My husband, daughter and I trekked Everest Base Camp last month. It was the most amazing holiday I have ever been on. Everything about it was fabulous. I would like to thank Amazing Nepal for everything they did for us. Our holiday would never have been the same without them. Our guide Prem was “out of this world” amazing! The coolest guy ever who kept us safe the whole trip. Our porters were the sweetest, who always made sure we had everything we needed. I 100% recommend Amazing Nepal and if I go back I will contact no one else. Thanks again.

Decided to do something 'epic' with my daughter for my 50th - perfect choice!
Santosh responded fully and quickly to all questions prior to the trip - very professional.
On arrival in Nepal, we were completely looked after - met at airport, lovely quiet hotel near the busy Thamel central area, down jacket and sleeping bag arranged, flights to Lukla.
Prem (our guide) and Dhurba (our porter) were amazing. Each evening we had a prep meeting for the next day. They made sure food and accommodation en route were on point and we enjoyed playing cards and sharing time with them. Fabulous guys - we couldn't have done it without them.
The team had even arranged a birthday cake for me to cut at EBC (we arrived there on my birthday) which we shared with an expedition team and Sherpas in Camp.
Any problems which arose were dealt with quickly and efficiently. Totally professional and highly recommended 10/10

First we were quite suspicous, because Amazing Nepal had only good reviews. But everything was great: Santosh answered many questions we had very quickly beforehand. The organisation was superb. We were met by our guide Tej at the airport. He then helped us organize gear for the trek. Tej is the best guide I have had so far: Experienced, helpful, did everything for our small group and very nice. Without him and our two amazing porters we would have never made it over the pass. Due to the small group size the schedule was adjusted flexible to our group. I can really highly recommend Amazing Nepal and especially Tej as a guide.
The only thing I would recommend as well is to bring your own sleeping bag from home.

Wow, where do we even begin! What a fantastic 12 days it has been, 5 of us friends, on a hike to EBC lead by the most incredibly humble, knowledgeable and supportive guide we've ever had the pleasure of knowing.  Dasarath, you are amazing! You and other amazing porters who helped us along the way, made our trek the most memorable one yet. None of us were aware of what was to come upon landing at Lukla Airport but you made the whole 12 days enjoyable and as comfortable as possible. Thanks so much for your hospitality and for being so accommodating 24/7. We saw amazing views, crossed scary bridges but you kept the entertainment alive and joined in on our crazy conversations, which we loved. Thank you all from the bottom of our hearts :)

My family and I just did a 10 day EBC Trek. We are very happy that we selected Amazing Nepal! From communication before our travel to Nepal to our awesome guide Saroj, we had a great experience with this company. The ease of not having to worry about where we were sleeping or eating each day made the trip more enjoyable. If you pick Amazing Nepal ask for Saroj. We observed other companies alnd guides and we would not have traded ours for the world! We had trouble flying to Lukla and leaving Lukla due to weather. Without Saroj, we might not have been able to sort out rebooking flights. We had the trip of a lifetime and now have a forever friend in Nepal.

Thank you Amazing Nepal, thank you Saroj for such awesome trip !!
