Trip Overview

Upper Mustang, also known as the land beyond the Himalayas, stands at the edge of the Tibetan plateau with untouched socio-cultural practices, historically rich archeological sites, and spectacular landscapes. The forbidden kingdom of Mustang, 'Mini Tibet of Nepal', is a restricted trekking zone which has a huge significance as it consists of one of the oldest monasteries and caves waiting to be explored. This tour takes us through captivating landscapes of the dry valleys, amusing towns, and enchanting mountain views in a comfortable private jeep.

Upper Mustang Private Drive Tour begins from the beautiful city of Pokhara and driving through the winding roads we reach Beni, from where the off-road journey starts. Every traveler is bound to be left awestruck at the beauty of the picturesque villages, arid valleys, deep canyons, barren ridges and the eroded cliffs in the journey. With splendid views of Dhaulagiri and Annapurna, we visit some of the major attractions of the area such as the Tatopani, Kaligandaki Gorge, Nyi La Pass, and Muktinath Temple to ultimately reach Lo Manthang. Lo Manthang is the walled city that connects with the Tibet border. It is well-known for its tall whitewashed mud brick wall, centuries-old monasteries, palaces, caves, and certainly the view of the magnificent mountain peaks in Annapurna Himalayan Range and northern Tibetan-Himalayas.  The tour offers an opportunity to explore Lo Manthang in all its glory for two days. There will be time to enjoy not only the iconic locations but also the diverse culture and topography of Upper Mustang. The spiritual enlightenment provided by the customs, culture and the monasteries like Ghar Gompa, Luri Gumba, Tsarang Monastery, and others are truly undeniable. It is perfect for someone who has a limited time or prefers easy and comfortable tours instead of a hectic trek. The most favorable season to visit Upper Mustang is April to August and September to November.

Upper Mustang Private Drive Tour is the perfect choice for a thrilling adventure without having to exhaust our bodies, all while enjoying the spectacular landscapes, majestic mountain peaks and immersing in the unique culture, customs and hospitality of the locals. So, join Amazing Nepal Tres and Expedition to make it your next adventure, which will definitely provide an experience you will cherish forever.
