Day 01: Fly to Lukla (2,800m/9,186ft) & trek to Phakding (2,652m/8,700ft), 3-4hrs
You will fly from Kathmandu domestic airport to Lukla in the early morning. It is just a 30-minutes-long flight. Once you land at Lukla airport, you will find yourself busy taking photos. Our crews will start taking care of the luggage. Usually, trekkers take their lunch at Lukla. After things are properly set by the midafternoon, you will begin your trek up to Phakding. This is a short route. At Phakding, a small and quiet village, you can enjoy an evening walk.
Day 02: Phakding to Namche Bazaar (3,440m/11,283ft), 5-6hrs
As soon as your breakfast at Phakding, you will find yourself walking along the banks of Dudh Koshi till you arrive at Monjo, another small and quiet village. This village is a gateway to the Sagarmatha National Park. As you walk through the National Park, you start gradually descending to the banks of Bhote Koshi River till you arrive at Jorsalle village. After a short break, you will be walking towards Namche Bazaar, a globally known small town, where tourists from around the world flock in. It is here you pass your night at a comfortable teahouse.
Day 03: Acclimatization day at Namche Bazaar
Namche Bazaar has an altitude of 3,440 m (11,253ft). This is the best place for you to stay for a day for acclimatization. It is from here you start ascending towards Base Camp. That’s why special care needs to be given to your body. You can spend your day simply trolling around. Or you can visit a Sherpa Museum or you can walk a little up to Everest viewpoint and see the view around. Since this is an ancient place of the Sherpas, you can enjoy watching their architectures and lifestyles.
Day 04: Namche to Tyangboche (3,867m/12684ft), 5-6hrs
After breakfast at Namche, you set out for the journey along the trail that takes you through the forest and up to the hill. From the hill, you can enjoy watching some of the most magnificent views of the mighty mountains like Everest, Nuptse, Lhotse, Ama Dablam, Thamserku, and Kwangde. Do not forget to take photos. The trail from the mid of the forest finally takes you to Tyangboche. This world-famous monastery is famous for its grand architecture, and infrastructure. This is the best place to stay. Do not miss the views of the mountains in the evening.
Day 05: Tyangboche to Dingboche (4,358m/14,295 ft), 5-6hrs
Comparatively, this is going to be a comfortable journey for you. After breakfast, you will find yourself descending from the mid of the rhododendron forest. You will be crossing a beautiful valley and then follow a trail that takes you straight to Dingboche, another quiet and beautiful place to stay.
Day 06: Acclimatization day at Dingboche
It is yet another important day and place for you to get acclimatized. Since you will be ascending up, it is essential that you take enough rest here. We recommend you stay the whole day free. This rest is going to boost up your energy and stamina. Many physically fit tourists make their hiking up to Chhukung (4,730m) and find watching many mountains and glaciers on the horizon.
Day 07: Dingboche to Lobuche (4,928m/16164 ft), 5-6hrs
The journey from here to Lobuche is just 4.5 miles. But the trail is full of challenges. It tastes your skills, patience, and energy. The alpine meadows and yak pastures land you come across mesmerize you with some of the rare panoramas. You cross the Khumbu Glacier, probably the most difficult trail so far. The rugged route finally lands you here at Lobuche. You stay this night here.
Day 08: Trek to Gorak Shep (5,160m/16,929ft) & hike to Everest Base Camp (5,365m/17,601ft) 5-6hrs
It is a brand new morning and time to leave Lobuche now after your breakfast. The journey to the Everest Base Camp Trek begins now. You are no longer an ordinary trekker. You make a real journey in your life. The base camp out there is at an altitude of above 5,000m (16,000ft) and you got to be there.
First, you will reach Gorak Shep, an amazing village covered in snow most of the time. You take your lunch here and start hiking the Khumbu Glacier. From here, you see Mount Everest in its raw form. This trail further takes you to the world-famous space, called the Everest Base Camp. You quench your thirst of becoming a real trekker here at this point. This is, in fact, a turning point in your life. After exploring this world-famous place, you will be walking back to Gorak Shep. Spend your night and feel the change in your life.
Day 09: Early hike to Kala Patthar (5,545m/18,192ft) & trek back to Pheriche 6-7hrs
It is dawn at Gorak Shep. Forget about your breakfast. It is time to be ready for a short hike up to Kala Pathar. You have to reach there before the sun rises if you do not want to miss this rare experience. Our crews are ready. They wake you up at right time. If you are at the top of Kala Patthar and the sun is about to rise, you are going to be one of the blessed tourists. Have a look at the heaven that the sun's rays start creating all over Mt. Everest, Nuptse, Ama Dablam, and Pumori. After this view, it is time now to trek towards Kala Patthar. After you reach the Kala Patthar, you start again heading towards Gorak Shep and then to Pheriche. It is here at Pheriche you pass another important night in your life.
Day 10: Trek to Namche Bazaar (3440m/11,283ft), 6-7hrs
Today’s trail descends to Debouche, rises through rhododendron forest to Tengboche. A long descent leads back to Phunki Thenga before the climb to Sanasa (where the trail forked to Gokyo). The walk along the broader trail to Namche Bazaar is easy, where you will be staying tonight.
Day 11: Trek to Lukla (2,800m/9,186ft), 6-7hrs
This is going to be yet another happy day in your trek. After your breakfast, you set out for Lukla, from where you had started walking some two weeks back. Since you are completing this trek, you will be having great joy. But then this is also the day you will be leaving all the natural beauty back. But memory matters. We are sure that memories associated with this adventure are going to make you happy throughout your life. We will celebrate your victory back at Lukla.
Day 12: Fly back to Kathmandu.
You will fly back to Kathmandu mostly in the morning. You will be dropped at your hotel. And, we will take you for a farewell dinner in a restaurant that serves continental cuisine in Thamel.
Day 13: Reserve/Buffer day in Kathmandu
Due to frequent delays and cancellations of flights in Lukla, we suggest that you include a buffer day for emergencies. If your flight is canceled, this day will ensure you make your international flight home and avoid the hassle of having to change it.
Alternatively, if everything goes well, you can use this day to relax, go on a city tour, look for souvenirs, get a massage, or do any other activities that you are looking to enjoy in Kathmandu.
