Mohare Danda is a remote and peaceful hill-top located on the foothills of Annapurna and Dhaulagiri peaks. The quaint trails on the Mohare Danda Trek take you through the old fashioned Magar and Gurung settlements inside the Annapurna Conservation Area. A recently discovered trail, it offers mesmerizing views of the Annapurna and Nilgiri mountains. This trek is also known as ‘Rhododendron Trek’ because you traverse through the lushly decorated Rhododendron forests en route to Mohare Danda. If you’re looking for adventure in solitude, Mohare Danda can be the best trek destination and the best alternative to the neighboring Ghorepani Poon Hill trek. 

The 10-day Mohare Danda trek begins upon your arrival in Kathmandu. You head to Pokhara on a long drive along the Prithvi Highway. Continuing the drive, you make way towards Galeshwor village via the Baglung Highway. You’ll gradually trek alongside Kali Gandaki River to climb the lushly forested trail past Magar villages of Banskharka. Passing Danda Kateri, you arrive at the Magar village of Nangi. Theron, the trail makes a gradual ascent to reach Mohare Danda (3300). From the top of Mohare Danda, you can witness the majestic sights of the mountains in Annapurna, Dhaulagiri, Nilgiri, and Hiunchuli ranges. You’ll retrace your path and begin descending through Gurung villages of Deurali and Ghandruk to reach Nayapul. Ghandruk is another major highlight of the trek where you can enjoy the Annapurna Himalayas with the warm Gurung reception. The trek concedes upon your return to Pokhara All throughout the trek, you’ll completely be lodging at the community-run homestays. Day 01: Arrival at Kathmandu airport and transfer to hotel. Overnight at the hotel.
A company representative will receive you at the Tribhuvan International Airport and take you to your hotel in Kathmandu. You can rest and relax at the hotel and, later, enjoy strolling around the nearby areas. 
 
Day 02: Kathmandu to Pokhara by bus. Driving 7-8 hours. Overnight at the hotel.
After early breakfast, you’ll embark on a short road journey from Kathmandu through Trishuli Highway to Pokhara City. A popular tourist getaway, Pokhara is a famous stop among both local and international tourists. The commute to Pokhara takes around 6 hours and goes along the Trishuli and Marsayangdi rivers. Upon your arrival, you can enjoy the exciting nightlife of the city.
 
Day 03: Pokhara to Galeshwor by bus and trek to Bans Kharka (1525 mt.). Driving 4 hours and walking for 3 hours. Overnight at guest house.
After early breakfast at Pokhara, you’ll embark on a short drive west through the Baglung Highway towards Galeshwor village. You’ll drive past Nayapul and Beni to reach Galeshwor. Once you reach this village beside Kali Gandaki River, you rest and prepare for the trek. After lunch, you’ll begin trekking through the lush forested path for three hours to reach Bans Kharka.
 
Day 04: Bans Kharka to Nangi (2300 mt.). Walking for 5-6 hours. Overnight at guest house.
Leaving Bans Kharka, the trek gradually ascends through the lush rhododendron forest towards Nangi village. The day starts with a hearty meal at the community homestay. The trek passes along numerous smaller Magar settlements while offering the stunning views of the nearby mountains and impressive landscapes. You can choose to visit the organic farm school located in Nangi village. 

Day 05: Nangi to Mohare Danda (3300 mt.). Walking for 6-7 hours. Overnight at guest house.
Leaving Nangi, you’ll begin trekking through the Mohare Hill to reach Mohare Danda. The trail enters the beautiful Oak and Rhododendrons forests and goes uphill while offering the magnificent views of Machhapuchhre (6997m), Annapurna South (7219m), Dhaulagiri (8167m), Tukuche (6920m), and Nilgiri (7061m) among others. Mohare is a small hill-station situated at 3300m in Kali Gandaki gorge. You can enjoy the beautiful sunset view before retreating to an eco-community lodge.

Day 06: Mohare Danda to Deurali (3090 mt.). Walking for 6 hours. Overnight at guest house.
You’ll wake up with the magnificent views of the mountains. You can also choose to hike to nearby vantage points and relish the sunrise lighting up the silver mountains. After a hearty breakfast, you’ll begin trekking down the hill towards Deurali village. Deurali is a Gurung inhabited village lying en route to Ghandruk. On the way, you can catch the beautiful sights of the Annapurna and Nilgiri ranges.
 
Day 07: Deurali to Ghandruk (1940 mt.). Walking for 6-7 hours. Overnight at guest house.
Leaving Deurali village, you’ll begin descending towards Ghandruk. You’ll pass through the lushly decorated Rhododendron forest en route. The trail also passes Ban Thanti and stretches along pasturelands to reach Ghandruk. Ghandruk is full of Gurung heritages, ethnic culture, and native architecture. The village also sits magnificently against a majestic backdrop of the Annapurna Himalayas. You can enjoy exploring the well-managed village before resting for the night at one of the quality tea-houses.
 
Day 08: Ghandruk to Nayapul and drive to Pokhara. Walking for 4 hours. Overnight at the hotel.
Leaving Ghandruk village, you’ll begin descending through the neatly paved stone steps towards Nayapul. You’ll walk along Modi Khola and descend through the terraced fields that lead directly to Nayapul. From Nayapul, you’ll embark on a commute back to Pokhara. At Pokhara, you can enjoy the completion of the trek with your colleague and staff.
 
Day 09: Pokhara to Kathmandu by bus. Overnight at the hotel.
You’ll bid farewell to Pokhara city. The Machhapuchhre (6997m) and Annapurna ranges offer goodbye as you leave Pokhara and head for the capital. The 6-7hr drive will go through the lush forested hills, gorges, and towns along the Trishuli River to Kathmandu. Once in Kathmandu, you can choose to explore the city or rest and prepare to leave the country.
 
Day 10: Transfer to airport for your final departure from Nepal.
On this day, you leave Nepal and head to your destination. You can schedule the events for the day according to your flight schedule. Feel free to shop for gifts and souvenirs. We wish you all the best and hope to accompany you on future visits in Nepal.

Accommodations and Meals:

You will be provided a room in a tourist standard hotel, while you are in Kathmandu and Pokhara. During your trekking, you will be provided room in teahouses. Please be informed that you will be sharing the room at teahouses. Please also note that the Annapurna region is located far from the maddening crowd, therefore, teahouses may not be as much sophisticated as one finds them in town.

We will provide only breakfast while you are in cities and three-course meals while you are on trek. This means you will be taking breakfast and dinner at teahouse you stay and lunch in the mid of your trekking. Since the Annapurna region is geographically a remote place, you will be provided only selected but hygienic and organic local foods such as Nepali dal bhat, Tibetan soup, and bread, porridge etc.

Is this trek appropriate for me?

We believe Short Annapurna Base Camp Trek is a moderate trek. It has fewer possibilities of suffering from high altitude and thin air. But, it requires inspiration and passion which makes your trek successful. You are supposed to have a light backpack for making your admirable trek. Although you have an average health condition, your positive attitude and strong determination can help to accomplish this trek. For making comfortable walking, adjusting to changing climate, our package manages the facility of acclimatization in needed place as well as 5-6 hours walking per day. If you have already accumulated hiking and jugging experiences that will be beneficial to adjust to the situation. Amazing Nepal cordially requests to have medical checking before you plan to start long trekking and hiking.

Briefing of the Tour:

You will be briefed about the trek, you will be given an information file, and importantly introduced with your guide.

Trekking Crews:

We will provide government registered, well-trained English Speaking guide, who holds enough knowledge about responsible tourism and eco-friendly tourism

We will also provide an assistant guide who is ready to help you with every situation.

We will provide a porter is provided to every two of you, and he will be carrying not more than 25kg.

Size of Group:

Trekking Group Size of our group can range from two people to ten people. In case you want to travel alone, do not hesitate to write to us. We will plan accordingly. In case, you more than ten people, please do let us know so that we can develop and improvise plans and itinerary.

Acclimatization:

Trekking to the Annapurna Region is as much difficult as it is technical. We give special priority to its technical sides as well. For this, we have designed an itinerary to allow you to get acclimatize naturally. We know the particular location you need to stay for rest, and the particular distance you need to walk slowly and so on. In case you get high altitude sickness, we have crews who know how to deal with it effectively and smartly.

How to respond to Altitude Sickness?

Travel Insurance:

We would like to recommend you to get your trekking insured. Since you are trekking in probably one of the wildest and challenging routes, you need to be cautious of anything inevitable. You may need helicopter evacuation and get your trip canceled. You may get injured and get your baggage theft and so on.

Permits and fees:

The government local body charges some small amount of fee for every you make to the World heritage sites, Conservation areas, National Parks, and restricted areas along climbing. The price we charge includes all the fees.

For some case, if you couldn’t get any of these listed equipment/gears in your hometown or you’re in a rush before you fly to Kathmandu, don’t worry! Except for your day pack, all luggage will be carried by porters. A porter is available for two people who will carry maximum up to 25 kg. So, you have to be careful while packing your bag or luggage.
 
Moreover, there is an allowance of 15kg per person on domestic flights. Additional personal items are not needed for the trekking portion of the trip which can be kept in the hotel’s storage room without extra cost.
